Latched suitcases (no zippers), or "clipped suitcases", represent a double-leaf luggage on the frame. The frame can be made of body material in the form of a thickened casting. This is done when the extrusion method of casting from polypropylene is used.
It can also be aluminum for any plastic cases or polypropylene for polycarbonate cases. Even though zip luggage is lighter, frame structures are more rigid and are used to give a stable shape. The Benefits of Latched Suitcases (No Zippers)
- Zipperless, snap-on suitcases have a rubber edging around the frame that compresses slightly when closed and waterproof. Even the air passes with difficulty. Therefore, such luggage can be safely left in the rain and even float on an empty suitcase (just kidding).
- Because they have a completely rigid body, the retractable handle and rails are perfectly protected from impact and can be bent in extremely rare cases.
- Most often, such luggage does not have a lining, and this is very practical, since any dirt is easily washed off, and worn or broken parts are easy to change in a couple minutes.
- Suitcase latches at the top and bottom of the strong>clamp the frame securely, preventing it from opening during impacts. We recommend that you always use buttons or rotary mechanisms for additional fixation to increase reliability.
- The central latch-clip, on which a combination lock is installed, protects against unauthorized opening. Modern models have a TSA function.
- Unlike a zipper, which not every service center will undertake to replace, replacing the clip is inexpensive and takes a couple of minutes.
